Fantastic dinner here, we had the pumpkin manty and the lamb skewer- delicious! Also had the borscht, which was served hot. The crispy eggplant appetizer was the best thing on the menu. Service was excellent and the environment is lovely. Only complaint is I wish they didn’t take plates quite so fast - almost before you even put your fork down.
Everyone was absolutely delicious. Great beer menu and delicious honey cake. If I had to complain about one thing, the price to proportion of the chef’s special. Other than that amazing experience. We will be back for sure.
Very nice restaurant in Chicago. I was recommended the one on Lincoln ave, but this was closer to me, so gave it a try.
The decor, ambience and atmosphere is truly wonderful. Highly recommend for this.
🦋 place offers central Asian & European dishes.
🦋 very clean and spacious.
🦋 bread & butter for table if you want
🦋 My personal opinion: wish they just focused on the central Asian dishes. I love Uzbek, Kazakh food …that’s what I actually went for… there were some options… (they didn’t even have lag-man soup) but it seemed more like Ukrainian, Polish, Georgian cuisine…
🦋 the food is good , but it’s not exceptional. Definitely needs improvement.
🦋 also I ordered Moroccan chai…(I’ve been to Morocco and also to Ukraine, Russia, Poland, etc) that is not Moroccan chai …not even close. It’s more a Polish/Ukrainian Compot tea.
I told my waiter this, but he was not knowledgeable on this subject nor did he even offer anything.
🦋Overall it’s a nice experience and I do recommend.
Phenomenal place, went with 6 friends and we are all foodies and all agreed that its one of our top places by far! Excellent quality, taste, decor and atmosphere and the staff was very nice and helpful, our waitress was Kergyz, she was awesome. Even the desserts were outstanding, we had all the desserts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Atmosphere, vibe, hospitality and food - everything checks the box at Jibek Jolu! The good is yummy - make sure to try their pilav and honey cake! Rest items on the menu are also worth trying and exploring Uzbek cuisine.
Delicious food. My first time getting Ukrainian food and it was a pleasant surprise. My mushroom soup was superb, flavorful how a soup should be. The Plov was good, the rice was delicious but the lamb lacked some flavor. My wife got a chicken that was breaded and served in a rolled fashion which was delicious.
Have to say that the service was perfect.
We came here for lunch, and the food was delicious! The interior of the restaurant had such unique decor, and the service was great. We’ve never had central Asian cuisine before, but we’re glad we gave it a try. We ordered the samsa, cheburek, and crispy eggplant as appetizers, the chicken plov and steamed manty as main dishes, and the honey cake for dessert. Everything tasted great, but our favorite dish by far was the crispy eggplant. The texture and flavor were both unique, and we loved every bite of the dish. This is definitely a great place to try central Asian food!
The food tastes good; I made yummy noises when I ate. We started with the chebureki and garlic shrimp and they were very good. We got the Branzino and prime steak Plov for entrees. I would not order the prime steak with the Plov again; I plan to try the chicken next time. The steak was a bit tough and chewy. Overall, a great experience.
